Dual credit students do not qualify for federal and state financial aid. However, San Jacinto College offers assistance through the Texas Public Education Grant (TPEG). Find out if you are eligible and apply today!

Eligibility

We encourage you to submit a TPEG application if your high school does not pay the 25% of the cost that is not covered by San Jac and you have a financial need. All of the following must be met in order to receive consideration for TPEG funds:

  1. Please consult with the Dual Credit Office to verify dual credit eligibility.
  2. You must be in compliance with the San Jacinto College Academic Requirements for Receiving Financial Aid

5 Steps to Apply

  1. Complete the TPEG Dual Credit Fund Application

Make sure to fill out the application for the correct year:

2023-24 Texas Public Education Grant (TPEG) Application

2024-25 Texas Public Education Grant (TPEG) Application

  2. Complete the Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA)

Students who are citizens must fill out the PDF version of the form.

  3. Get Your Tax Forms

Collect copies of W-2s and tax transcripts for yourself and your parents. If taxes were not filed, use W-2s. If a W-2 was not received, please report wages on questions 58 and 64 of the TASFA.

  4. Register for Classes

Register for classes with the Dual Credit Office to ensure that dual credit exemptions will be posted to your account.

  5. Submit Applications on Time

Return the grant application, income documents and TASFA to the Financial Aid Office before the priority deadline. Submit documents by email or in person.

Priority Deadlines

It’s important to submit your application by priority deadlines. If you miss a deadline, we will still process your application. However, you may have to pay for your registration cost upfront.
