From Biology Major to Life-Changing Educator
Professors at San Jacinto College, like Dr. Tyler Olivier, are changing lives by
being passionate and dedicated educators. They inspire their students to pursue their
dreams and provide the support and guidance needed to achieve them.
Without [a former student] seeing me as a professor, he would not have pursued
a degree in biology.”
Dr. Tyler Olivier majored in biology at Louisiana State University and earned
his Ph.D. in environmental and evolutionary biology from the University of Louisiana
Lafayette. Dr. Olivier fell in love with teaching after his first week as a teaching
assistant and now supports students in higher education and service learning.
