Transfer to University of Houston - Downtown

University of Houston Downtown logoSan Jacinto College students have a range of opportunities to transfer to University of Houston Downtown (UHD), including a program for guaranteed admission and the possibility of finishing an associate degree from San Jacinto College while attending classes at UHD.

Joint Admissions
San Jacinto College students may guarantee admission to University of Houston Downtown by completing and submitting, during their first year at San Jac, a joint admissions contract to both the San Jac admissions office and to UHD.  Students will have access to UHD advisors who can assist students with degree plans and the transfer process. Students jointly admitted to San Jac and UHD receive a number of benefits including a waiver of the transfer application fee.

Reverse Articulation
San Jacinto College students transferring to University of Houston Downtown (UHD) prior to graduation from San Jacinto College have an opportunity to complete requirements to earn an associate degree awarded by San Jacinto College. San Jac students transferring to UHD only need to indicate to UHD an interest in earning the associate degree from sanjac. When San Jac degree requirements have been completed through courses at UHD, which includes 24 hours of coursework that satisfies San Jac’s minimum resident credit requirement, San Jac will notify the student that they have earned the associate degree and are eligible to participate in San Jac graduation ceremonies.
